Since Gary raised the issue of trauma, thought would get the ball rolling on trauma trance. Trauma can be sudden and shocking or accumulatively created. A trauma trance can be something short-lived, or something that lasts months, years or even permanently. The results of trauma depending upon severity has a huge range of symptoms such as, a zombified state, disconnected in certain areas and/or numbed out, hypersensitive in other areas, hallucinations (all kinds), automatic pilot, blind rages, uncontrollable weeping, panic attacks, going through the motions.
If you say something frightening and/or negative to someone who is already in a traumatized state whatever you say becomes embedded in them. It can be harder to reach them with a positive suggestion in such a state however, but worth trying. The film "Persona" by Bergman is one of my favorites for it portrays the relationship between a traumatized woman (played by the beautiful Liiv Ullman) who has stopped speaking and her therapist (played by the also lovely Bibi Andersson). To my recollection, the cause of the trauma that caused Ullman's silence remains a mystery as does she, while the therapist reveals herself more and more, becoming more and more vulnerable in the process of her identification with her patient. The patient/therapist division is broken down. Another interesting subject.....but I digress.
Post traumatic stress disorder can be caused by a singular event, which can be something that happens to one from outside, or an emotional response to being shocked by something comparitively minor (e.g. the garish face of clowns can be traumatic to small children, inciting a fear of clowns for a long-time to come) depending upon for example, ones age, vulnerability at the time and/or whether one had low blood sugar.
What about the victims of war....the trauma of ones family being killed, ones limbs blown off. When it is beyond sadness....no tears can possibly express the degree of pain and suffering? How to rehabilitate the well being of war veterans who have, seen and experienced so much and return but never return....looking at the world and everyone in it with the glazed/damaged look unable to feel excitement or their feelings anymore, so numbed out by trauma trance are they, many reliving time and time again, the memories that so destroyed their sense of sanity.
Animals in zoos and circuses experience trauma trance as well, not only human animals are capable of numbing out to pain, or boredom or tyranny. How many of us have seen the bear or elephant bobbing to and fro in it's lonely concrete display area? Where is there to go, what to do....? Boredom and abscence of socialization with ones own kind is deeply traumatizing.
Identifying trauma trance can be epiphanous or require some help to realize. Working therapeutically on sufferers of trauma trance is a delicate area....requiring careful listening skills and moment to moment attention, not to mention the right approaches in suggestion.
On another note, trauma trance can be something experienced in a culture on a mass level, such as what we have seen occurr with the events of Sept. 11. The constant replaying of the twin towers on tv over and over put the country into a traumatic trance. When you are in this kind of shocked out trance state, it is easier to plant suggestions. The primal survival mechanisms are the most susceptible. So, fight or flight automatic response is the most tappable.
Most big news stories tap into fear and through repetition ad nauseum of the images that frighten or sicken, deposit messages ("the news") into the mass consciousness. If, you are one of those who chooses not to wire yourself to this matrix but obtain your news from various sources, you can escape the trauma trance to a degree, but not entirely, unless you work quite hard at it via meditation or whatever works for you, as the sheer force of being surrounded by the mental climate of trauma creates a substantial trauma vibration to contend with in addition.
Phew! Enough said on this one for now.....
Other thoughts invited.

Re: Trauma Trance
Wed, December 26, 2007 - 9:30 AMPraying...and emitting prosperous and love thoughts is the only ingredient that will do some good.
The distance between the one who prays and the one who suffer is equal to the time that it will take to heal and activate the mechanism of forgivin'
To forge back the sowed hearts that is a necessity for one and other to feel belonging to the big human experience...without having to hide like any hurt animals do. Is the work of spirit.
Spirit has no other way of blowing the Trauma Trance with the breathing of such praise.
Before one becomes a shadow of his own self...and bear his soul like if it were in prison
It is necessary that in the heart circulate these prayers...in the invisible world.
The blood will atune to these wishes of well being and enable the mechanichs of healing.
Look around and let nature teach you...
Peace
&
Love

Sun, December 30, 2007 - 12:29 AMIn order to fully prevent media hypnosis taking over ones consciousness or sense of being....the prayers need to become almost second natrue, going on all the time, so that one, in effect is immune to being pervaded by the psychic and spiritual pollution.
I especially like these lines you wrote:

* I'm not sure I understand what yo mean by this one though....do elucidate further...wondering what you mean by distance and what you mean by time. There is an equation being drawn...am intrigued:

Re: Trauma Trance
Mon, December 31, 2007 - 9:08 AMIn general...People seem to be never quite confortable with the time that things take to shape in reality.
These capsule of space/time continuum that unravels and reveal what we wish so deep...can rapture our soul in believing they are soon to be realize because we often think of them to be so justified that we constantly are mystified by the time it may actually take.
The equation seems yet so simple.
It depends on how truthfull we are to the reality and it's multiple plane of dimensions...even the one that are invisible even most.
When I say :
«The distance between the one who prays and the one who suffer is equal to the time that it will take to heal and activate the mechanism of forgivin' »
What I exactly refer too as the distance is not something about physical distance between the locations between the one who prays and the one who suffer...
Rather it refers to how close you are in the heart to this person...How deep your soul is connected to the other one...how deep you touch her soul...
If you seem to not touch this person that means there is a distance...Therefore it should take more time to heal or to obtain forgiveness.
Also...that distance may ressemble a lot how we distanciate or ressemble from being as bold as GOD or close to his word & his Kingdom rules.
Bearing his love and truth in our heart and soul, puts us in total sinchronicity in all realms of reality and dimension...
Under these condition...Distance, Time all Dimension are crushed in the hand of GOD...They simply disappear.
Thing then occur at the speed of light...or the speed of LOVE, if we may say so.
From the realm of LOVE (GOD's Kindgom) derive every reality...So it is the main conductor of all : Living and Dead.
As, Bob Dylan, said ounce «There are no truth outside the gates of eden».
Our heart may be this eden...in our nowadays time.
If you are seperated from truth, healing is a hard way up.
The same would also apply to a dead wandering soul who in ghosthly spirit is lost in our physical plane.
If you were close enought to this soul prior to his death ...Healing or Forgiveness is closer and at reach.
Does that Help ?
Gee difficult to put in words.
Happy New Year to all...May you all heal from all sufferings and bathe in the LOVE of GOD.

Aha....I thought that's what you meant.....
Hmmm....very appropo.....am navigating a process of forgiveness at this time as it happens. Shall be interesting to see how long it takes. :O Ha! I have forgiven already, but I don't think they have. I think it is easier for me to love however....where there is love, forgiveness is easier mefeels (new word, ala methinks)
More soon.....
